This dat file format comes under the common data file, which is always accessed by the application from which it is been generated. It is relating to or probably descriptive only for an entire group or class of similar application and characterized only by that application. It comprises of data or information in binary or textual or image format. It can be viewed by the standalone text editors like notepad, wordpad and so on. The information may be about the date and time of modification or access and versions of the software, etc.
